Brandon

Senior Consultant in Dubai
“My favorite aspect of the job is having an impact on how a brand communicates and positions itself. There’s a lot of satisfaction in seeing an article written for a CEO appear in a publication, or watching a CEO in an interview recite the talking points that you wrote. There’s a feeling of: ‘Wow that’s us – we played a role in how this brand is communicating on this topic.’ Our advice has guided or steered them in the right direction, and we can see the value that this creates.”

I’m a Consultant in Kekst CNC’s Dubai office, where I focus on counselling clients and developing strategic recommendations for corporate plans, but I also do a lot of work in content development and media relations. I’ve been at our office for almost three years, having returned to Dubai from Canada right after college.

Having worked in a large PR firm before joining Kekst CNC, I really appreciate how close the team here is and how the firm takes care of its people. Right from the Associate level, we’re encouraged to take up opportunities that will help us grow. For instance, I know that if there was a course in London that I was interested in and would help with my development, I could ask my managers and they would back me 100 percent – which you don’t find at a lot of places.

We’re given room to develop as professionals, and we get a lot of experience across different areas of communications and industries, while taking on more responsibility. In the Dubai office, we get to work on interesting projects, doing high-level and strategic work that only a select few people in the world have any knowledge of the inner workings of. Being a part of those conversations is something that’s really rewarding about working here.

Outside of work, one thing that I’ve become passionate about is watches. I’m a huge watch geek, so I’m always reading about timepieces or watching videos, learning about them and reading blogs. I have five watches in my collection currently, and I love learning about the history behind them and the brands, as well as the craftmanship that goes into making a mechanical watch.
