Peter has been representing the Kekst CNC network in Korea since 2004, contributing his decades of experience in PR & corporate communications as a seasoned, well-connected consultant for the Korean market.

Since 1987, he has been running his consulting company “KETIC Inc.”, which specializes in supporting foreign companies with accessing the Korean market.

He also provides foreign business promotion services for local manufacturers and traders, and consults government agencies on trade and investment related issues.

From 1983 to 1987 Peter was Deputy Secretary General of the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

As a board and committee member of foreign Chambers of Commerce he helped shape a number of policies towards leveling the playing field in Korea.

Q&A with Peter

What are the major industry challenges in the next 3 to 5 years?

Trade tensions entail the risk to disrupt global marketing strategies. Market concentration leads to tougher competition for customers and clients. Political correctness in polarized societies will require extensive, deep analysis and constant monitoring of the interest and responses of all parties involved  in communications.

What is the area of expertise in which you really stand out?

International commerce: Having worked in and with the full range of added-value chain operations, I have hands-on understanding of corporations’ needs for and expectations from PR support when accessing overseas markets.

What are you passionate about? 

Preservation of endangered wildlife: It took a billion years to evolve. The next oasis is zillions of miles away. What could be more precious?

What’s the most important thing you’ve learnt from a client?

How values affect leadership: Having accumulated decades of experience in a largely conservative cultural environment, I have witnessed corporate culture's sudden change by impact of fresh executive open-mindedness.

What has been the biggest change in the industry since you started working? 

Social media: Ever since Gutenberg, mass distribution of information and opinion has been possible, but was expensive and therefore institutionalized. Now everyone can reach out instantly, share personal views and influence public opinion on almost every aspect of life.
