Q&A with Harriet

Why did you choose Kekst CNC?

The culture and the spirit of everyone working here was apparent from my first interview, and I was intrigued and impressed by the driven, intelligent and friendly people I met across all levels. Coupled with the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting clients across the company’s global network, and to travel and develop, the decision was a very easy one for me to make.

What are the major industry challenges in the next 3 to 5 years?

Demonstrating tangible value as our perception of it, and the times, change.

What advice do you have for aspiring communications professionals?

That learning and understanding what you don’t want to do is as valuable (if not more) as knowing what you want to do. Often the emphasis lies on finding a passion and specialism, but understanding that each role, be it in-house or agency, will bring something new to your professional development will allow you to identify and appreciate where your strengths lie.

Also if you find something interesting, explore it as far as you can – you never know where you will end up.

What careers advice would you give to your younger self?

To have confidence that I have been hired for a reason, and that everyone, no matter what level in a company, has a valuable role to play when working in a team.

What are you passionate about?

All things food. I have always been a foodie and I am continually surprised by London’s incredible restaurant and bar scene, which is second to none.

I am fascinated by the convergence of food and technology and am excited by how this is evolving around the world, especially regarding its potential to alleviate food shortages and positively impact global resources issues.
