Principal
Richard specializes in providing communications counsel to companies and stakeholders engaged in high-stakes, complex transactions and other transformative matters.

He draws upon his 15 years of experience in law and journalism to advise clients on a range of strategic communications matters, including restructurings, M&A, government investigations, and other special situations, across various industries.

Richard applies his 15 years of experience as a restructuring and litigation attorney, as well as in journalism, to advise publicly traded and privately held companies, private equity firms, hedge funds, boards of directors, and management teams on complex and high-profile strategic communications and transformative matters involving: bankruptcy and restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, business separations and spin-offs, litigation support, management transitions, government investigations, and investor relations. He has experience across a vast array of industries, including finance, energy, healthcare, gaming and entertainment, leisure, lodging, and retail.

Prior to joining Kekst CNC, Richard was a Senior Legal Analyst at Debtwire, where he was responsible for conducting legal analysis on distressed companies in various industries, as well as high profile out-of-court and in-court restructuring situations. Prior to that, Richard spent nine years practicing as a restructuring and litigation attorney at law firms including Weil, Gotshal & Manges and Kirkland & Ellis, during which time he advised clients on an extensive range of financial and operational reorganizations, liability management transactions, and litigations.  

Richard holds a J.D., cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School, and a B.S. in Policy, Analysis and Management from Cornell University, where he graduated with honors.
