Kaya TanabeSenior Associate
Kaya Tanabe is responsible for supporting corporate and financial communication projects for global companies.
Prior to Kekst CNC, she worked for the US-based PR firm Weber Shandwick in Tokyo for three years specialising on multinational technology clients, as well as clients in other industries such as airline, real estate and steel. While there, she excelled in practicing PR and communication skills for both B2B and B2C projects and established relations with the media.
She holds a BA in Archaeology and Anthropology from University College London and obtained an MSc in Theory and History of International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Having spent most of her life in London, UK, Kaya is bilingual in English and Japanese.

Who or what inspires you?
Although a small team, being surrounded by colleagues in the Tokyo office, who are both effective and adaptable, inspires me to serve our clients with utmost professionalism and dedication.

What careers advice would you give to your younger self?
To relax; it works out the way you believe it to.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learnt from a client?
That every client is very different in terms of PR according to their needs and strengths; it is exciting to learn about each client’s industry, market, positioning, and to plan strategies to further their success together as a team.
What is the most exciting city you’ve ever been to?
London is always the closest to my heart! It’s where I was born and grew up and I never get tired of it.
